NEW updates on voting - October 12, 2018

1. Having trouble accessing the website address to vote?

Use the address on your Voter Information Letter (VIL), which is:

parrysound.evote2018.ca.     https://parrysound.evote2018.ca also works.

Do not type in "www" as prefix.

2. You do not need to input birthdate information in the voting website to access voting. Some previously circulated information indicated that this was necessary.

3. Due to the high number of Councillor candidates, the Returning Officer recommends internet voting as a more user friendly voting method than telephone voting.  If you require access to a computer, or assistance in internet voting, you are welcome to come to the Town Office, Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 P.M. and on Monday October 22nd extended to 8:00 P.M.

Changes to the Municipal Elections Act

Municipal elections in all Ontario municipalities, including the Town of Parry Sound, are governed by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (the "MEA").  On June 9, 2016, the Municipal Elections Modernization Act, 2016, or Bill 181, received Royal Assent, making a number of changes to the MEA.
