Fire Prevention

The Fire Prevention Officer works hand-in-hand with the community and other members of the Fire Department to help prevent fires by:

• providing educational opportunities;
• conducting fire safety inspections;
• ensuring carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms are properly installed; and
• helping to enforce fire safety laws such as open air burning.

The Parry Sound Fire Department aims to stop fires before they start and attempts to achieve this through public education and the necessary enforcement of fire safety standards.
