All residents and business owners in the Town of Parry Sound receive weekly curbside pick-up of garbage and recycling. Collection and disposal of garbage and other refuse is covered under By-law 2008 - 5284 as amended.
Leaf and yard waste, and pumpkins are collected curbside during November. Christmas trees are collected curbside during January. Read below for details.
Garbage and Recycling

To find out what your collection day is please see the Curbside Collection Schedule.
- Residents and businesses not located in Downtown Business Association District must place waste curbside by 7:00 a.m.
- Businesses located in the Downtown Business Area only must place waste at curbside by 8:30 a.m.;
- Single homes allowed 2 free bags plus 1 bag with pre-paid garbage tag attached;
- Apartments and rooming houses allowed 1free bag plus 1 bag with pre-paid garbage tag attached;
- Businesses allowed 5 free bags plus 3 bags with pre-paid garbage tags attached;
- Waste is collected on statutory holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. See Important Dates for Public Works Services; and
- Garbage tags can be bought at the Town Office and Hillcrest Grocers at 108 William Street.
Recycling program is 2-stream.

Leaf, Yard Waste and Pumpkin Collection

- Place bagged leaf and yard waste, and pumpkins at curbside in November;
- Town staff will collect during the month;
- Use paper yard waste bags only as other bags and containers will not be picked up; and
- Residents can also take yard waste to the Transfer Station free of charge.

Christmas Trees
|
- Christmas trees will be picked up in January (please refer to the yearly Collection Calendar or call the office for specific pick-up dates; and
- Trees must be at curbside with all decorations removed.
