Bobby Orr Community Centre

The Bobby Orr Community Centre is a fully accessible community centre, boasting an ice surface, a hall, and a meeting room.

Located at the end of Mary Street, the facility is a hub of on-ice activity from September - April. In the off season, the ice surface hosts commercial trade shows and various events including indoor sports and concerts.

The rental rooms are home of many activities and events including the weekly bridge club, the Shriner's annual wild game dinner, 4-H Club activities, and many special events including the Yuk Yuk's tours, Wellness Fairs and the Optimist Club of Parry Sound's Breakfast with Santa.

COVID-19 Update

(January 4, 2022) - The Provincial Government has announced  new measures in response to the rapid spread of Omicron in Ontario.  Effective January 5, at 12:01 a.m., Ontario will return to the Modified Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen. 

As a result of these restrictions, the Bobby Orr Community Centre has altered its services to comply with provincial legislation.  The following changes will take effect as of January 5, 2022:

  • The Bobby Orr Community Centre will be closed to the public.
  • Recreation programming will be postponed until further notice.
  • All indoor meetings and events booked at the Bobby Orr Community Centre will be cancelled or rescheduled.
  • All ice usage at the Bobby Orr Community Centre will be postponed until further notice.

These restrictions will be in effect at the Bobby Orr Community Centre until new direction is given by the province that allows the facility to be safely reopened.

This web page will be updated as new information surrounding the reopening of the Bobby Orr Community Centre is made available.

Facility Screening and Vaccine Certificate Protocol

All patrons who enter the Bobby Orr Community Centre are asked to complete the COVID-19 screening questionnaire prior to entering the facility.  Upon entry, patrons must confirm they have completed the screening questionnaire and are not experiencing any COVID symptoms.  Please only fill out the questionnaire on the day you are planning on entering the facility for scheduled ice or room usage.  A link to the online screening document is posted below:

Note: As of January 4, 2022, only QR code vaccine certificates are permitted as valid proof of vaccination status.  The QR code can be digital (i.e. on a phone screen) or printed on paper.

As of September 22, 2021 and under O. Reg. 364/20 Rules for Areas at Step 3 and at the Roadmap Exit Step, patrons entering the Bobby Orr Community Centre must provide proof of full vaccination that meets the requirements of the provincial legislation.  Details on the Town of Parry Sound's protocol for checking Vaccine Certificates and who is exempt can be found in the document linked below:
