Zero to Hero-Lifeguard Training Program

The Town of Parry Sound is actively recruiting qualified individuals to fill job vacancies at Waubuno Beach for the 2023 Summer Season. 

Due to the national shortage of lifeguards, we have begun thinking outside the box. We will be hosting a "Zero to Hero" Lifeguard Training program in June to help round out our lifeguarding team for this season. 

The Zero to Hero program is available to individuals, 16 years of age and older, with an interest in aquatics. 

The program is 8 days, attendance at all eight days, and successful evaluation is required to receive the Lifeguarding Certifications. 

Program Dates (locations: BOCC & Waubuno Beach): 

• Friday, June 09: 5:30pm-9:30pm 
• Saturday, June 10 & Sunday, June 11: 8:00am-5:00pm 
• Monday, June 12 (NNDSB PD Day): 8:00am-5:00pm
• Friday, June 16: 5:30pm-9:30pm 
• Saturday, June 17 & Sunday, June 18: 8:00am-5:00pm
• Sunday, June 25: 8:00am-5:00pm 

The registration fee is $450.00 per person.

Zero to Hero-Financial Incentive Program

The Town of Parry Sound is looking to create a "home grown" aquatics team. Individuals who register and successfully pass associated exams of the Zero to Hero Program, accept an employment offer with the Town of Parry Sound & fulfill their job contract by remaining employed through the 2023 Summer Aquatics Season, will receive 50% of the Zero to Hero training costs reimbursed at the end of the Summer season.
