The Canadian Forces Snowbirds are coming to the Parry Sound airspace on June 13, 2018!

About the Canadian Forces Snowbirds

Per the Canadian Forces Snowbirds website, "The Canadian Forces (CF) Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron are a Canadian icon comprised of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and National Defence Public Service employees.

Pilots, technicians (aviation, avionics, aircraft structure, supply), mobile support operators, resource management support clerks, an engineering officer, a logistics officer and a public affairs officer representing all three elements (Army, Navy and Air Force), work as a team to bring thrilling performances to the Canadian public. Serving as ambassadors of the CAF, the CF Snowbirds demonstrate the high level of skill, professionalism, teamwork, discipline and dedication inherent in the men and women of the CAF and they inspire the pursuit of excellence wherever they go in North America."

Show Details

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will take to the skies of Parry Sound on June 13, 2018.  The show is scheduled to begin at 5 PM, and will last approximately one hour.

To enhance your viewing of the Snowbirds display the Moose 103.3 will be broadcasting the play by play action of the air display on their radio station so be sure to tune in. Download the Radio Player Canada app on your smart phone or device for full coverage. 

Vendors, community interest groups and not for profits will be displaying their wares and services before and during the show. Please be sure to drop by to support them. They will be set up at various locations along the fly area from the salt docks to the water treatment plant, at the new and old beaches, and at the Charles W. Stockey Centre.

Parking and Viewing Areas

Viewing Areas

The command centre for the event and the main viewing area will be at the Salt Docks.  Please click the link below to view a map of the Salt Dock Spectator Viewing Area.

Secondary viewing will be all along the Rotary Algonquin Fitness Trail from the rugged trail to the water treatment plant, at the new and old beaches, right through to the Charles W. Stockey Centre.  A bleacher unit for viewing will be placed at Waubuno Beach.  Please click the link below to view a map of the Waubuno Beach viewing location.

Please note that the roof of the water treatment plant will be reserved for VIP guests, dignitaries and sponsors.

General viewing will be available in the parking area in front of the water treatment plant.

If you are planning to view the show from the water, you will need to know that there is a large fly box that will be outlined on the water by buoys placed by the Canadian Coast Guard. This fly box will be monitored before and during the show to ensure no boats, airplanes, jet skis, kayaks or any other water craft enter this area by the OPP. The no boat, no fly, no entry zone is for the safety of the pilots and spectators alike and the show will be stopped immediately if entry happens into the fly box.  Please click the link below to view a map of the restricted zone.

Parking

There will be no vehicle access to the Salt Dock area and to the water treatment plant past Georgina Street, please plan accordingly and respect private property.

Please note that accessible parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis by the Fitness Trail entrance along Salt Dock Road.
