Parry Sound has many fantastic parks, and fun for the whole family. You can find the perfect picnic spot, playground, sports field or passive park to get out and enjoy!

COVID-19 Update

(February 25, 2021) - Please note that parks and playgrounds are not maintained in the winter. 

In accordance with the province of Ontario’s declaration of a state of emergency effective January 14, 2021, Town of Parry Sound parks and outdoor spaces will remain accessible to the public in a limited capacity.  Please note that all park amenities including washrooms, change rooms, and water fountains are closed at this time. 

Those who are using a public park or space are asked to observe and adhere to the following rules under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020

  • No more than 25 persons are allowed to gather at an outdoor location at any time.
  • A 2-metre physical distance must always be maintained between persons.
  • Use of a face mask that covers the nose, mouth, and chin is strongly recommended outdoors when a 2-metre distance is not possible. 

Please note that these rules are enforced under the Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020.  Under O. Reg. 8/21: Enforcement of COVID-19 Measures, any provincial offences officer (including police and by-law enforcement) have the authority to issue warnings, fines, and/or prosecution upon persons found in violation of these rules.

What park amenities are open?

Please note that parks are not maintained in the winter.  All amenities such as washrooms and change rooms are closed at this time.  

(February 25, 2021) - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has permitted the reopening of  all outdoor public ice rinks, tobogganing hills and skating trails on public property across the district,  effective February 22, 2021. 

Outdoor Rink:  CLOSED

Town staff are currently working on rebuilding ice at the outdoor rink.  It remains closed at this time.  

Toboggan Hill:  OPEN 

  • Maximum capacity of 25 persons.  If the hill is busy when you arrive, come back at a different time.
  • Stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Masks are mandatory while on the hill.
  • Be kind, limit your time if others are waiting.
  • Practice physical distancing; keep 2 m distance from those not within your household.
  • On-site washrooms are not available at this time.
  • Park equipment is not disinfected.   
  • Bring your hand sanitizer and sanitize frequently.  

What will remain closed?

Tower Hill Observation Look-out is closed.

Can we play sports in parks?

Please note that parks are not maintained in the winter.

Can we host gatherings or events in parks?

Gatherings of more than 5 people outdoors are prohibited.  At this time, the Town of Parry Sound is not allowing use of parks for organized gatherings.

How do we stay safe while using outdoor recreational amenities?

Users of the Town of Parry Sound’s parks system are  reminded that these areas are available for use at your own risk and are not regularly sanitized.  An inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases including COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.
