Amazing Places

What Are Amazing Places?

You will know an Amazing Place the moment you see it. It may be a vista so powerful and majestic that it will literally take your breath away. Or, it may be a scene that will simply cause you to pause, and soak it all in.

Amazing  Places connect us with nature. They are must-visit destinations where we can experience the exceptional beauty of eastern Georgian Bay and learn about our unique environment and cultural history. They tell a story about the ecology and cultures of our region, helping us to live more sustainably in this landscape.

There are two amazing places in the Town of Parry Sound the Rotary & the Algonquin Regiment Waterfront Trail and the Tower Hill Lookout.

Rotary & the Algonquin Regiment Waterfront Trail

The Waterfront Trail follows the rocky shoreline along the Town of Parry Sound for 6 km. Formerly a railway line, this recreational
trail is busy with people of all ages, enjoying the trails fine views and access to Parry Sound's popular parks and beaches.

Tower Hill Lookout

Climb 30 meters up a historic fire observation tower to enjoy a spectacular 360 view of Parry Sound. Watch boats and float planes navigate their way through the harbour. Enjoy the surrounding gardens, and the cultural exhibits at Museum on Tower Hill.
