Keep Wipes Out of the Pipes!

Parry Sound residents: we’re launching a “Pee, Poo, Paper” awareness campaign to help protect our sewer system! Even when labelled “flushable,” wipes do not break down like toilet paper—they can snag in pipes, damage pumps, and contribute to clogs and sewer backups.

What you can flush (The 3 Ps)

Only flush:

• Pee
• Poo
• Toilet Paper

What you should NOT flush

Please put these in the garbage instead:

• “Flushable” wipes / cleaning wipes
• Paper towel & tissues
• Feminine hygiene products
• Cotton swabs
• Diapers
• Dental floss
• Medications (use pharmacy take-back programs)
• Cat litter

How residents can help

• Switch to “bag it & bin it” for wipes (keep a small lined bin in the bathroom)
• Talk to your household (kids, guests, tenants) about the 3 Ps rule
• Share social media posts regarding the campaign to help spread the message

When in doubt—throw it out!
