Notice - Blasting - Champagne Street

Please be advised that drilling and blasting operations on Champagne Street are scheduled to begin on Wednesday October 29th, 2025. This work will require temporary changes to site access. The Fitness Trail and Champagne Street will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians during drilling and blasting activities. Signage and barriers will be in place to restrict access and ensure public safety.

Safety precautions during all blasts include:

• Adherence to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations governing the use of commercial explosives and blasting safety 
• Use of standard rubber blasting mats to prevent the possibility of fly rock and to protect the public, workers, properties, structures and utilities 
• Site access during work hours will be controlled by the blaster-in-charge
• Standard blasting sirens, including an all-clear signal, will be sounded prior to initiation and following the completion of each blast. The siren will be audible within a 1 km radius
