Notice - Sewer Flushing and Cleaning Starting

Please be advised starting Monday May 12, 2025 and over the next few weeks, a contractor hired by the Town will be flushing and cleaning the Town's sanitary sewers.

The work will not affect most homeowners or cause any disruption to service. However, there is a possibility that small spills, noise and odours may result. During this maintenance exercise, air pressure may cause water to bubble up from your toilets and floor drains. This usually only occurs in homes that have sewer lateral deficiencies and/or inadequate ventilation.

Flushing the toilet after each use and keeping the lid down will help to reduce the amount of water that bubbles up. Placing old towels or rubber mats over basement floor drains will help as well.
