Parry Sound Sets Sail to Kick off New 2025 Cruise Schedule
The Town of Parry Sound is gearing up for another exciting season of welcoming cruise ships to our community. The Pearl Mist will visit the town dock 12 times this summer, beginning with its first call on May 27th, while the Hanseatic Inspiration will anchor twice in the fall. Together, they will bring a steady flow of visitors and tourism activity to the town.
The Pearl Mist is a boutique cruise ship operated by Pearl Seas Cruises. Built in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and launched in 2014, the ship accommodates up to 210 passengers and 65 crew members. Parry Sound has been a favourite stop on the Pearl Mist’s Great Lakes Explorer, St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes, and Great Lakes and Georgian Bay itineraries since 2014.
The Hanseatic Inspiration, owned by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, was built in 2019 in Romania and Norway, and sails under the Maltese flag. This ship carries up to 230 passengers and 170 crew. While it typically explores international destinations, two of its 2025 voyages—one from Halifax to Milwaukee in September and another from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland to Halifax in October will include day stops in beautiful Parry Sound.
Cruise ship visits contribute to the local economy by supporting businesses and increasing tourism. They also provide an opportunity to showcase the charm, natural beauty, and warm hospitality that Parry Sound is known for.
“We are pleased to see these cruise ships back in our harbour and welcome all visitors into our community,” remarked Mayor Jamie McGarvey.
