Town of Parry Sound Launches Economic Development & Tourism Strategy

PARRY SOUND, ON (April 2, 2026) – The Town of Parry Sound is pleased to announce that it will be working with McSweeney & Associates to develop an Economic Development & Tourism Strategy.

This important strategy will establish a clear roadmap to strengthen Parry Sound’s local economy, support business development, enhance tourism opportunities, and build on the region’s unique advantages. The strategy will identify key priorities, opportunities, and actions to help ensure Parry Sound continues to be a vibrant place to live, work, invest, and visit.

A key part of the project will be public and stakeholder consultation. The Town and McSweeney & Associates will be engaging with residents, businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to gather input and ideas. Public and stakeholder consultation will play a central role in shaping the strategy and ensuring it reflects the community’s vision and priorities.

Public engagement will begin with an online survey, which will be launched during the week of April 13^th, 2026. The survey will provide an opportunity for residents and business owners to share their perspectives on Parry Sound’s economic strengths, tourism opportunities, challenges, and priorities for the future.

Additional public engagement activities will take place throughout the strategic planning process. The final Economic Development & Tourism Strategy is expected to be completed and presented to Council by September 2026.
