Spring Hydrant Flushing Notice
The Town of Parry Sound will be completing spring hydrant flushing starting the week of April 20, 2026. This program can take up to two months to complete.
What to expect during flushing:
- You may notice temporary discoloured water (yellow/brown) or cloudy water
- Water pressure may fluctuate for short periods
What residents can do:
- If your water is discoloured, run your cold water tap (preferably a bathtub or laundry tub) for a few minutes until it clears
- If you have a water filter, you may want to check/replace the cartridge afterward if you notice sediment
Hydrant flushing is an important maintenance activity that helps improve water quality, confirms hydrants are working properly, and helps keep our system operating safely and reliably.
In you experience ongoing discoloured water or pressure issues that do not improve, please contact the Town office at 705-746-2101.
