Sailing

Parry Sound sailors are the envy of the sailing world. Strong, dependable winds, on deep blue water with pine-clad pink granite shores in the heart of Georgian Bay's 30,000 Islands, attract racing and cruising sailors alike.

You have charted your course for a magnificent sailing venue!

Parry Sound is the largest natural harbour on the Great Lakes. Georgian Bay is on the East side of Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada. The pristine, open water, known locally as the Big Sound, and renowned worldwide is more than 5 by 6 nautical miles in area, and more than 300 feet deep. Parry Sound is a sailing paradise in a spectacular Northern Ontario locale, designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Only 2 hours north of downtown Toronto on Highway 400, Parry Sound, the shoreline town named for the body of water, is home to Sail Parry Sound. It is a volunteer-managed club and home of the Sail Parry Sound Sailing School which offers sailing lessons to youth and adults in July and August each year.  The opportunity to enjoy some fresh delicious snacks and drinks, with a spectacular view of the bay on the upper deck at Sail Parry Sound contributes to making this an ideal destination.
