2026 Group Swimming Lessons

Make a splash this summer with our 2026 Group Swimming Lessons at Waubuno Beach. Our outdoor lessons are a great way for children and youth to build confidence in the water, improve their swimming skills, and enjoy learning in a fun, supportive environment on Georgian Bay.

Programs are led by qualified instructors and designed for a range of ages and abilities. 

Registration Opens: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:00AM

Daily Sessions (DS) run everyday, Monday-Friday

  • Daily Session 1 (DS1): July 6-July 17
  • Daily Session 2 (DS2): July 20- July 31
  • Daily Session 3 (DS3): August 3-August 14 

Evening Sessions (ES) run on the identified dates for four weeks 

  • ES1A: Monday/Wednesday: July 6-July 29
  • ES1B: Tuesday/Thursday: July 7-July 30
  • ES2A: Monday/Wednesday: August 3-August 26
  • ES2B: Tuesday/Thursday: August 4-August 27

**Swimming Lessons take place rain or shine. In the event that the weather is no appropriate for in water lessons- instructors will teach water safety and dry land training.

Please note: 

  • Class times are subject to change based on registration and staffing. 
  • Additional classes may be added based on registration. 
  • Levels may be combined as necessary to algin with staffing and registration. 
  • Instructors have the authority to adjust class lists and necessary based on observed skill level. 
  • parents are required to participate in the water with children in Parent & Tot levels.

Bronze Level Courses

The Town of Parry Sound is pleased to offer Bronze Level courses for the 2026 Summer Season. 

Please note: the Lifesaving Society has updated the First Aid Training program, historically offered alongside Bronze-level programs. As a result, first aid certification is no longer included as part of our Bronze level programs. 

Participants registering in a Bronze- Level program should be aware that any required first aid certification must be completed separately.

The Town of Parry Sound is offering an Intermediate First Aid Course on August 16, 2026, to provide the necessary pre-requisite for Bronze Cross participants. Details of this program are now live below.

Course Details: 

  • Candidates work on their judgement, knowledge, skills and fitness, building problem solving and rescuing skills needed to help respond to aquatic emergencies.

Prerequisites: 

  • Minimum of 13 years of age, OR Bronze Star Certification

Schedule: 

  • August 1-3, 2026: 10:30 AM-6:00 PM

Cost:

  • Residents: $150.00
  • Non Residents: $160.00

Please Note: we require a minimum of 6 participants to run Bronze Medallion. If the participant minimum is not met, the program will be cancelled and refunds will be issued. 

Course Details: 

  • Bronze Cross builds on the skills learned in Bronze Medallion, with a greater emphasis on advanced rescue techniques, teamwork, and scenario-based training.

Prerequisites: 

  • Bronze Medallion
  • Basic or Intermediate First Aid (Emergency or Standard First Aid will be accepted) 

Schedule: 

  • August 24-27, 2026: 11:00 AM-5:30 PM

Cost:

  • Residents: $175.00
  • Non Residents: $185.00

Please Note: we require a minimum of 6 participants to run Bronze Cross. If the participant minimum is not met, the program will be cancelled and refunds will be issued. 

Course Details:

This program provides intermediate (previously standard) first aid and CPR-C instruction through a combination of required pre-course learning, in-class theory, demonstration, and hands-on skill practice. Participants who successfully complete the program requirements will receive certification. 

Age: 

Participants must be 13 years of age. 

Date: 

Sunday, August 16, 2026: 8am-5pm. Pre-course learning (approximately 3-4 hours) must be completed independently in advance of this date.

$150.00 per person

Junior Lifeguards

Welcome future lifeguards! Whether your drawn educating yourself on aquatics, eager to gain volunteer experience/hours, looking to learn more about water safety and rescues or simply looking to see if lifeguarding is a possible future job for you, you're in the right place! The Junior Lifeguard program returning to Waubuno Beach this year, and is designed to introduce aspiring lifesavers aged 11 to 16 to the essential skills and responsibilities of lifeguard.

Applications will be accepted until all spots are filled- apply early to avoid disappointment. 

Successful applicants will be contacted for interviews. Submission of an application is not a guarantee of acceptance in the program. We are looking for youth that have a strong desire to work in aquatics, are leaders among their family and peer groups and have a commitment to water safety. 

The Junior Lifeguard program will run from August 17-August 21 from 11am-4pm. 

Successful applicants are expected to be on site for the full duration of the program. 

The Junior Lifeguard program is a free program, offered by the Town of Parry Sound.
