Emergency Planning

In accordance with the Emergency Management and Civic Protection Act, every municipality is required to have an Emergency Response Plan.

The Town of Parry Sound is committed to working hard towards the safety of its residents by providing expert knowledge and training to its Emergency Management Team. The Team works closely with community partners and neighbouring municipalities for the protection of life and property and to mitigate effects in the event of an emergency situation.

Large scale emergencies can occur at anytime and although the Emergency Management Team is dedicated to providing the community with as much emergency relief as possible it's important that residents also follow some simple steps.

The best defense during an emergency is having the required information and knowledge.

Let's all work together to provide a safe community. The following are links that will help you get started:

72 Hour Emergency Preparedness Kit

During a large scale emergency community officials expect residents to be self sufficient for a 72 hour period. Most emergencies can be mitigated to a reasonable manner in this time frame so that the community resources can be directed to those in the community who most need the assistance.

For assistance in being self sufficient please review and employ the 72 Hour Emergency Preparedness Guide.

Be Prepared Not Scared

The best defense during an emergency is information and knowledge.

  • Plan your escape
  • Designate a meeting place
