Proclamations and Tag Days
If you wish to have Council make a proclamation for your event or cause, the request must be submitted in writing to the Clerk by the Tuesday prior to the Council Meeting. It will be a resolution brought forward under the Consent portion of the Council Agenda. A copy of the resolution will be forwarded to the writer shortly after the Council Meeting.
If you are looking for contributions from passersby on town streets and/or sidewalks for your event or group and in return they receive a tag, you must receive permission from Council by resolution. A letter to the Clerk is required. Council limits permission to a community group to hold a Tag Day to only one group on the day requested.
Tag Day groups must get permission from the business owner if they are to solicit donations out in front of that business.
Tag Day Resolutions can be posted on the Events Calendar on the Town website by any community group receiving permission from Council to hold a Tag Day.
