The Order of Parry Sound

Do you know someone who has made a difference in our community? All residents of and contributors to the Town of Parry Sound are eligible for the Order of Parry Sound - our community's highest honour for achievement. While the Mayor of the Town of Parry Sound, who is the Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Order approves the final appointments, it all starts with the public taking the time to nominate someone who deserves this special recognition.

The motto for the Order of Parry Sound is They Desire a Better Community. Recipients since the Order started in 2001 have enriched the lives of others in our community.

Complete and submit by hard copy or e-mail the nomination form and supporting documentation by Wednesday December 14 at 4:00 PM to rjohnson@parrysound.ca or drop off at the Town Office reception desk.

An independent Advisory Council evaluates nominations and recommends candidate(s) to the Mayor. Not all nominations are necessarily awarded the Order. Nominations are kept confidential. Serving federal, provincial and municipal politicians and judges are not eligible, and no posthumous appointments are made.

The 2022 Order will be awarded in January, 2023, date and location to be determined.
